Here's the real story hiding beneath the surface: DeFi platforms are moving away from the assumption that liquidations are a feature. They're starting to treat them as a bug.
For years, the DeFi model relied on a clean economic theory. You lock collateral, you borrow against it, and if the value drops below a threshold, automated systems liquidate your position. Theoretically, this protects lenders and the protocol.
