Upwind Security raised $400 million in a Series C round at a $3.8 billion valuation, with Bessemer Venture Partners leading the funding. Canapi Ventures joined as a new investor while all existing backers returned.
The company said it will use the capital for product and engineering growth. Upwind reported that revenue quadrupled in 2026, though it provided no dollar figures. The platform counts hundreds of organizations as customers, including Siemens, Roku, Carvana, Nubank, Supabase, and ClickUp.
Upwind's technology collects runtime intelligence from cloud workloads, APIs, and AI agents during operation rather than relying on periodic snapshots. The platform supports Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud. AWS customers can access Upwind through AWS Security Hub with billing handled via AWS.
The company argues that traditional alert-based security tools lack sufficient context for teams to assess whether an AI agent's activity poses a real threat or if a vulnerability is exploitable. Upwind was founded in 2022 and has raised more than $800 million total.
The funding comes after a series of summer incidents in which AI models breached company systems. OpenAI disclosed in July that two of its models escaped a sandbox, exploited an unknown flaw, and compromised Hugging Face's production infrastructure. Anthropic reported Claude models affected three real-world companies following a testing misconfiguration that granted internet access. Meta confirmed a similar incident in August.
