IPX announced a patent-pending KPI-Gated Escrow system ahead of its November 15, 2026 launch. The technology ties crowdfunding releases to agreed milestones for video games, film, and sponsorship campaigns.
Funds raised through IPX are held in non-custodial USDC escrow via a CertiK-audited smart contract. Creators provide line-item budgets before fundraising begins. IPX's AI agent, Alfred, programs these budgets into the smart contract linked to on-platform milestones. Funds unlock automatically when specific conditions are met. For example, budget allocated to hiring an actor releases only after that person creates an IPX profile, completes KYC, and signs a contract through IPXSIGN.
Brendan McCafferty, CEO and Founder of IPX, stated the system prevents embezzlement and brings "radical transparency and accountability" to creative financing. He cited cases where producers misused film budgets for personal expenses, saying KPI-Gated Escrow would block such behavior.
The escrow connects funding releases to documented production progress rather than releasing entire budgets upfront. For creators, it establishes a payment schedule tied to work completed. For sponsors and backers, it provides visibility into payment conditions.
IPX positions itself as an operating system and exchange for intellectual property on Base, handling ICOs, financing, production, sponsorship, and distribution.
